Looking to replace the full set but not sure with what. Car currently has cup sports on front and avons on the back (dont ask previous keeper didnt want to fork out for cups on the back). Having had some nasty experiences in the snow last year wondering if there is a tyre more adept at handling wintry conditions without necessarily being a true winter tyre? Previously i was going down the falken 452 route but I think its a better fair weather tyre?

Am i naive to think that a more winter oriented tyre will make this rear wheel drive car handle that much better in snow etc?!

Are the vredesteins an option. Im more inclined towards the budget end of the market.

Assumin you have 18's Nankang NS ii are fine. Just turn the traction right off in snow and you'll find some purchase pulling away.

I really rate Falken 452s as mid-range tyres.

I've had these on my touring for the last year and a bit and have no complaints - especially at a shade over £100 per corner (all in).

checked last night and the front 2 are fine so i think i will replace the worn rear avons with new michelin ps2s to match the front

shame ill be selling the car over the coming months seems a waste to blow 400 on tyres but nothing more important than good tyres and brakes!

Nokian N-Tyre?

Supposed to be a decent all-season designed for Europe.

i know and im grateful but no point in changing 4 tyres when only 2 need doing. i should have checked first. fact is that if all 4 needed i would have taken the falkens all round to get matching set. now that only rear 2 need replacing and the fronts are already ps2s i may as well spend broadly a similar amount of money and get a matching set of michelins

Yes, very good wet and dry weather tyre. I had them in those sizes on my E46 M Sport 325i Touring. They also wear quite well.

Michelin PS2s are my choice. Ran them on my 330d for years, run them on my 318 on the road/track and will run them on my M3 when the Vredesteins die.

Dunlop P9000 are alright, might be SP though I can't remember. I never had a problem with them and found them to be a fairly decent tyre. I'm currently trying out Michelin PR2's but got absolutely bent over for them, so based on the price, not the Michelins !

They are excellent tyres. I really liked them. I run ContiSport Contact3's now but I miss the F1's in the wet.

You are talking about the Asyms and not the F1 Gsd3 ( ? ) ones right?

I've run both but yes, my last set were Assyms. Also have them on the Z4 3.0i which suits very well and has vastly improved the ride and handling over the awful runflats.
