Best Insurance company for a LHD American Import VW

Good Morning all,

I am looking for the cheapest insurance company for a LHD 2001 American Import Bora for a 23 year old with 5 years NCB.

Cheapest quote I can get is £820 :O

Best option would be to sell it and buy a RHD UK market Bora. It'll be exactly the same, only without the silly marker lights. Insurance should be much cheaper.

You will find that the US spec is considerably higher than the UK one and the differences are far more than just having side markers, the entire bumpers are different.

OP, i have a US import corrado and have it insured via Chris Knott insurance brokers and only pay £34 more than a RHD UK model.

Slightly o/t, but why would you go to the trouble of importing a 2001 VW Bora from the US, when there are loads available here.

I can only assume that the people asking have not looked at US Spec cars. The main way VW an other euromanufactures can compete with US domestic produce is by chucking loads of options and higher specifications in order to justify the higher price.
