doors won't lock???

Doors shut but can't arm the alarm and the bloody lights on buzzer stays on permanently with the lights on, so it think the doors aren't shut. Blobs on doors are in place and i'm going to swap the door shut buttons with one of mine tonight to see if its one of those. Indicators flash for the alarm and also get a chirp when they flash which I'm sure wasn't there before. Try the door and it opens. Anything else I need to look at?
Car has just come back from full respray and haven't got time to keep taking it back (during office hours) so hoping for a quick fix.

Check the fuse for the alarm/immobiliser...

When the fuse blew on my '95 Chimaera the alarm made all the right noises but didn't do anything to the door locks, the dashboard LED flashed and the immobiliser was engaged all the time.

Thanks. The door lock mechanism clicks twice like it wants to shut then opens again immediately after. The car is driveable so I guess not the fuse but i'll check.

SOunds like the alarm thinks one of the doord is open - I get the extra chirrip in this case as well. Hence I'd guess you have a door switch problem (or possibly the wiring to it)

Cheers Rob. Its exactly like that. Hopefully a duff door switch - luckily got another Griff I can use as spare parts bin.
Would have tried last night but had to collect some cast guttering from Sheffield and got stuck behind a major pile up around J31 on the M1 and didn't get home till gone 9.
