I did the track day at Rockingham yesterday and had a great time.

This was the first outing in the Cerb since having the Nitron shocks put on but I was suffering from a loose rear and general wollowing in the longer corners.

Just wondered what setting people here use on Nitrons when going for it on a track day, I am currently 8 clicks from soft front and rear.

I think mine are on 4 / 2 clicks from hardest front / rear respectively. You might also need some more -ve camber on the back.

Hello Rog,

That reads like you have the dampers stiffer at the rear?

This is interesting as the majority of people with have stiffer front springs and damper settings at the front.

OP,

I'd be inclined to go too stiff and then back of to what you find acceptable when it comes to damper settings both front and rear.

Car should feel sporty and sharp imo smile.

Nitron will value em to 12 from hard depending on spring rates, so ideally 12 from hard would be your optimum setting, 5 up or down from that is fine but if your miles away you need to look at changing the springs.

If not your car will be overdamped/undersprung or underdamped/oversprung or in your case sounds like its just slightly underdamped, you are running 16 f/r from hard.

For the less bumpy tracks I would try 9 from hard front/ 12 from hard rear, if it's too hard just keep knocking em down 2 clicks, if you find yourself falling out the optimum range you need to look at spring rates.

Thanks for all the info on here.

Springs (Eibach), shocks(Nitron) and bushes(standard) are all new so will try more damping next outing.

Just wish there was an easier way of adjusting the shocks rather than jacking the car up but it will be worth it if the grip comes with it.

Whoops sorry I meant 4 clicks from hardest on the back, 2 clicks from hardest on the front.

You shouldn't need to jack the car up to reach the adjusters on Nitrons. I can easily get to mine with the car on the ground.

I am running 9 on the front and 12 on the rear (from hard) for sprinting. That is with 500lb Eibach springs on the front and 400 on the rear.

Are your adjusters at the top or bottom?

I put mine at the bottom. Its easy enough to take the shocks off and turn them over if yours aren't. It won't upset the geometry.

Mine different as I often have three up in the car so I'm 8 from soft on the rear, 12 from soft on the front. Then I normally click up 2 clicks for the track. It handles the road, bumps etc really well and for me, the track is so that I know what the car will do the way it is setup for the road.

Just make the changes on the shocks went ( from hard on the rear and 7 from hard on the front and what an increadible difference, ride is much better with no bouncing now and chucked it round a couple of bumpy roundabouts and she stick like brown stuff on a blanket.

Thanks again every one, a much happier bunny now.woohoo
