I had a 535i Auto (v8) but recently had a change in circumstances, which meant I could no longer afford to run it, so...

I traded it for this A4 and a bit of cash.

Nice car, are you going to do anything to it?

Had one myself. Nice place to sit, and handles pretty well, despite the rhetoric.

Thanks.

No plans other than just to enjoy it as much as I can.

So far, yes. I previously owned a 2.8 Quattro, but fell out of love with it due to rattles, oil consumption and various others maladies. At least the 1.8 should be much better on fuel!

I thought that myself, however it looks as though only the back seems to be riding a little low?

Five valves, eh?

one per cylinder and one for them all to share, I wonder?

Odd thing to put on the engine cover...

I dont know if you're serious or not... but rofl

Nice car OP, I'm just about to get rid of mine in favour of a Diesel. Currently averaging around 30mpg (50 mile commute, mostly motorway + a fair bit of country roads on evenings and weekends)

Read up on VAG 1.8T sludging issues etc & make sure you always put decent synthetic oil in it. A bigger filter doesn't do any harm either.

Very nice, hope you are happy with it. Mate of mine had a 150bhp Sport model a few years back. Excellent car which he still regrets selling.

Considered one myself recently but they are a bit tight in the back(ahem).

laugh I'm probably stating the obvious, but you do know it's 5 valves per cylinder, right? Why they didn't put '20v' though, I don't know...

Is this one of the 1.8T Quattro 'Sports'? Looks like it from the wheels, I think these were 180 bhp, 6 speed, rather than the normal 150 bhp, 5 speed?

This is indeed a Sport. According to the options list, it is a 132kW engine - 132kW = 177bhp or 179ps.

It has a 5 speed box though.

I use the excellent options decoder to work out what options the car was supplied with. A really good site.

quattro Sport was indeed 180PS (K03 not K03s) with a 5 speed box. With the exception of the rear spoiler that looks like a standard spec car.

Already said it in the Audi/VW section but they're nice cars, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Ahh, had thought these were 6 speed for some reason. Still, very nice car, I have spotted some nice Kingfisher Blue ones in the classifieds previously which have looked tempting.

Black one in the classifieds is much nicer. Not that I'm at all biased laugh

The one I had was 6 speed... It was the 150bhp version.
