So, how many photograph's did everyone take over the weekend???

Friday: 711
Saturday: 1173
Sunday: 931
Total: 2,815

Thank God for digital photography......

I am about to go into GEEK mode.....

In the days of film, I would've only taken ten films (360 photo's), for the whole three day weekend.

So, that is 2,815 digital pictures. Which is equals to 78 films. I always brought my films from Whitby's here in Chichester. They done a deal of 10 films (you brought five films and got five films free) for £25's. As I took the equivalent of 78 film. I would've purchased 80 films. To get 78 films developed it would have cost me £507!!!!

I've already edited and deleted a number of images but these are the current totals:

Friday: 1,072
Sunday: 1,348

Total: 2,420 Thanks to decent weather and so much going on.

I aim to retain about 8% which capture key moments, cars, aircraft etc.

My figures were how many I took over the weekend. I know I will delete about 300 of those. I am still working my way though them.

I only managed just over 400 on Sunday which was more than I thought I could do on a single battery in my 7D. In fact it had 50% charge left so could have gone on much longer. I did however make a conscious effort to not fiddle with the camera to much between races and waste power.

Unfortunately although I enjoy the technical challenge of photographing fast moving cars etc, not sure I would look at many of them again as nothing interesting happened in front of any of my viewing locations.

I found other off track areas too busy to compose the sort of thing I wanted to, and wish I had the balls to get the girls posing for me like some other amateur togs were doing!

So my question is, what does everybody DO with these thousands of images? Do they just sit on your hard disk for ever? Do you print one or two up? Do you stick them on your vanity website? Do you manage to sell maybe the odd one?

Some of them I will delete. Some of them, I will keep. I add them to Flickr (not all of them). I transfer them to an externel hard drive...

Took 3 rolls of 24shot 35mm and 350 point and click digital
This is less than in previous years as I have good images of a number of the regular cars and entrants already in my collection. Increasingly I'm concentrating on candid shots of attractive women and quirky situations
I'll edit up the best stuff and put it on flickr.
Any particularly favourite shots I'll print and try to get them autographed by the subject for my personal album and NOT to sell on ebay like a number of the crowd that spends all w/e camped at the picket fence by the drivers entrance. Must be lucrative as they get really arsey if you crowd their pitch rolleyes

I have heard that some of the drivers will charge a fiver per autography. I know certain will sell CD-Roms/DVD-Rom for ten to fifteen pounds per disc for their photographs..

eekNever come across it at Goodwood (Festival or Revival) I have a set of 5 autographed F1 WCDs in a frame on the wall at home, all signed at Goodwood, and am 2/5 on the way to companion piece. Only issue I've ever encountered is the bigger egos that you find at the Festival (combined with more hysteria). My point was that it appears that a number of people are permanently autograph hunting for resale, they certainly never see the racing. Hats off to John Surtees, Sir SM and Tony Brooks they were signing so often, every day of the event, that who could blame them if sometimes they hurried into the drivers club for some respite.

I wouldn't have the nerve to ask a driver to sign five or six photo's at one time. But I do not go 'autoraphy hunting' anymore. As the same drivers are there each year.

I remember you (or someone else) taking the picture (s) of the speedster in the speedster hub cap, turned out good.

Took about 1600 over the whole weekend which is low for me. Decided on quality not quantity. Have so far downloaded about 280 of which 25 will feature in my first exhibition soon (along with loads of others). I keep nealry all my photos on an external hard drive and hope to some day get round to sorting out an archive for the best of them. I currently use all my garden and plant photos for lectures and perhaps this could be a good use for my Goodwood pics. Just need to be very accurate with my info though.
