I'm in that age group & funnily enough I've also driven at night, how I'm still alive I'll never know.

Can they not keep bleeting on about how unsafe young drivers are, yes it's true, a lot do drive like tts, but most of us don't, also I'm paying st loads to insure my car, I'll use I'll use it at when ever time I fking please!

Also heard this on the radio this morning. If they go ahead and try to ban under 24's from driving at night I will be royaly fked. I work full time nights, I have to drive at night to get to work. If I am banned from driving at night and have to switch to day shift, whom may I ask is going to make up the difference in my pay? No one, bds!!! They can go to hell as far as I'm concerned.

You would be able drive at night if you had a good reason, like work, allegedly. Seeing your mates would not be allowed.

As an old fart, I'm all in favour of this. Less cars for me to crash into at night as I blunder myopically around

Sounds workable to me - get the Police to stop everyone who looks like they might be under 24 (so in reality everyone under 30) and make them prove that they're not just going to visit their mates.

And define night? Would I be able to get home from work at 5:30 in the winter as its already dark? Would I be able to be the designated driver to stop my mates (and some family) being plebs and driving back from the pub / club?

And 1/3rd of deaths are under 25... So whats going to be done about the other 2/3rds? And what is the average life expectancy? 75? so thats neatly a third of your life.

Sorry if thats a bit of a ramble, been a long day and stuff like this really pisses me off, hope you get my point

This is just silly. I started a driving job, 2 weeks after my driving test. I start at half 6 in the morning and work until 7. So for me it would involve a loss of hours, and money. They're just taking the easy route out. Why not revoke the license from the old 'uns that tootle along at 40mph EVERYWHERE. It's the main cause of problems.
