Best way to advertise a car for private sale?

Its on Ebay (as a classified add - which appears to be a mistake) and on Auto Trader - still getting no calls

Any suggestions?

I can remember back in the 80s, when cars didn't last nearly so long, a working second car was easy to sell. I would rely on being in autotrader on Thursday and being sold by the weekend.
But these days it takes quite a lot more time. Even for the right price, and autotrader ad can take a few weeks to shift a motor. You have to be patient and wait for the right buyer to come along.

If it's advertised at a reasonable price I'd think it would sell within 2 weeks on autotrader.

Pointless statements not required in adverts, lose it, it makes you sound like a twonk (IMHO).

I'd rather you used the space to tell me the dates/mileages of the servcies, the fact it is HPI clear, how many owners it has had, what tax it has left, how the tyres, alloys are, and if any BMW warranty. I'd also like to know what marks on the alloys and if there are any marks on the paint. These are all questions you can save the seller asking, rather than telling him it is fast and stylish. People decide what to buy and then search for it, you don't need to sell the make/model to them...

As far as things you cant change, the lack of Navigation, Bluetooth, and upgraded hi-fi, and an otherwise pretty basic spec wont help. That said, if you price it right, it will...

Added: Having searched Trader, your car certainly seems well priced, so don't despair yet!

So you have it up for £17,950 meaning the absolute most someone will offer is £17,500. WBAC will offer £400 less.

Personally I would be going to a local BM dealer and selling it to them or WBAC to cut out any grief.

I sincerely hope you do sell the car asap however I'm not sure how many people have £18k to pull out (without a bank loan) and also 3 year old... Just out of Warrenty?

The reassurance and ease of buying from a dealer may look quite inviting to average Joe.

I hope the right buyer comes along soon for you.
