Hi all, hopefully someone can advise.
I'd like to change the oil on my GT, had a quick look under bonnet and couldnt see the filter, will all become clear when the big plastic cover is removed ( I had my "good" clothes on so didnt want to get dirty )
What oil is recommended for my GT, this is my firsst diesel so i'm a little unfamiliar, the car is an 05 and has done 41K.
Is there any special things to note or is it just like doing an oil change on other cars?
Also would an oil flush, the type in a can, be recommended?

Thanks

A bit late by now for advice I suppose but the filter is under the car and is not visible as its there is a metal heat shield to be removed first. This shield is secured by three bolts. Not such an easy job as the car has to be jacked up to do this if you don't have a pit or a lift. Of course the plastic under tray has to be removed first.

Just follow the advice in the manual as regards oil type for the diesel - I can't recall now as I sold my Gt diesel (also an 05) a few years ago.

I don't see the need for an oil flush to be honest but changing the fuel filter is also a regular change item on a diesel. I regarded it as part of the general service.

Thanks for the advice, your not too late as when I went to use my pit for the first time I found it to be full of water!
I'll be carrying out the mini servive soon, after I get the water pumper out. I'll be changing the oil along with air/oil/fuel filters.

Cheers
