Engine Blown head gaskett

I was at Croft yesterday having a great day but coming round the hairpin before the pit straight I noticed water spraying up the windscreen so pulled in. The water and steam then plumed out of the exhausts and through the engine vents. HHC were on scene and advised this is caused by a major head gaskett failure. Two questions for some help please -
1) what damage is likely to be caused in the engine
2) Will tvr warranty this - i have heard that the engine gets a two year warranty whilst just 12 months on the car

Another PH'er ehasler has his engine at Power at the moment under warranty with the exact same failure so it should be fine...
