Im so my glad my dad went for a Sierra instead of one of these. I would have been beaten to a pulp back in the 80's if he had dropped me off at school in one of these monsters!

It might have been the 910 Bluebird, which is a whole other proposition, as it still holds the lap record at the old Mount Panorama circuit...

Is this an ongoing conversation or a bit of a tangent?

I'm so glad my dad bought a car to take me to school and not a unicycle.

Personally In the eighties the only car I wanted to be seen in was KIT, manufactured by Knight Industries. Alas my dad kept fobbing me off with a crappy Renault Alpine

A Fuego Turbo, designed by Robert Opron who styled the Citroen SM, and which car featured the other day in A View to A Kill and which gave its tail lights to the later wedge TVRs.

Or a hearing aid beige Sierra 1.6L.

Hmmm

My dad had a number of sierra's, and I recall being glad when he decided to get the bluebird as it was much comfier and had navigation lights thumbup

He also had a Citroen BX.....

We let him off on the basis he also had a range rover, TVR, Merc, Another TVR, BMW etc

he just used to do Crap Car, Fun Car, Crap Car, Fun Car....

Point being, Nissan Bluebird was better than the ford Sierra IMO!

My Dad had a Sierra for two weeks as a courtesy car.

True fact that.

I walked to school.

It gave me time to learn how to use apostrophes.

Your dad had an A310 then? At least the Sierra would be more likely to get you to school.

Didn't get a lift to school very often, but if I did it was in a Cavalier. We had every model as Dads company gave him a new one every couple of years.

We started with a early 1.3L and ended up with an SRI. I think we literally had every incarnation.

The first was like this

He had a numberplate made up saying 'PAUL 1' and used to attach it for me at the weekend (I was about 10 at the time) and I used to stand next to it/ sit in it for hours feeling proud of the plate on 'my' car.

The only day a car dropped me off at school it was an AUDI 100. And that only came about because the silly cow driving had just run me (and my push bike) over.

Yes I agree, but there was a lever at the front which opened the rear window, not a button, not a handle but an actual lever like you see in space ships. I kid you not! Dad always said it was the turbo lever, so for years I thought turbo meant more noise.

I remember my Dad going through a few Peugeot 504 estates. He would always brag about how good a car it was, but that didn't stop 3 visits that I know of from pikeys offering to take it away. It really was awful.

Now, the comma van....
