Having problems finding insurance for my newly purchased 3R.

I had a policy with Manning UK for my TVR which included UK track days and 3rd party 'ring cover. However they just told me they can't offer this on the noble and currently have only found very high quotes.

Being nearly 37, full no claims of 10 years, no claims or convictions, garaged, weekend only use, tracker and advanced driver I thought insurance would be easy enough.

Currently waiting on Adrian Flux phoning me back.

Who does offer cover for these cars?

Sorry not sure what happened to Subject - I typed original message via my Iphone.

Are any of the insurers doing 3rd party cover for the Nurburgring? PM me if you don't want to discuss it on a public forum please.

I switched to Competition Car Insurance when Hagerty were unable to renew cover for the Noble earlier this year.
Worked out under £700 for 5000 miles and included 5 trackdays (one in Europe).
The Ring wasn't included though.

These get a mention in previous posts; "Need2Insure" about £500.

I'm with Admiral @ £324 with a quote (on multicar) for £234 this year. 45 years old 5 years no claims, just and garaged. No track days though, although I've done 4 this year without insurance (will the luck hold).....

You could try Classic Line or Hagerty ( but they now wont touch any car with any mods, no matter how minor ).

I'd not touch Adrian Flux with yours; not after the caper I got tied up in last time I asked for a quote; basically, if the wont/can't quote then they flog you on to a company who try and get a quote for you. It's just a load of hassle, not illegal, but very underhand.

There is a German company that covers you for 'Ring damage' and 3rd party cover I believe, some of the guys that went on our Ring/Spa trip used them. If you trawl through the posts you should be able to find the thread with all the details. If you're lucky some of the guys that used them may help you!

When we got that. That covered leaks and barriers and that. Thinking about it I couldn't get third cover. When I was 24 with 2 years no claim £1000 from direct line for normal insurance

Yip - shopped around a lot today. Companies that did cover 3rd party no longer will. And specifically exclude the ring.

Nurburgmotorsport have suspended their insurance offering but only covered damage to bits of the ring not 3rd party.

Moris are offering track day cover, 3 days, £205, for Public days at the ring, covering £30K of car.

But still haven't found 3rd party. Won't be going on if I can't get cover.

Seen too many smashes the last time I was there including a 7 car pile up and air ambulance.

Think this might be my last Ring trip on a tourist weekend. Thinking of going to organised events from now on.

Come to think of it - anybody getting UK insurance that will also cover UK Track Days? PM me if you want to keep it private obviously.

competition car insurance cover up to 5 track days, specifically exclude ring tho... they were around 100 more than 'normal' insurance and car could be as modified as I wanted smile

i use Admiral on a multi car policy, about £325 if i recall, then use competition car insurance if i do track days, but i've never tracked abroad so cant comment on that.
