Stinking of petrol and cuts out...

I've got a 1.25 Fiesta which is currently sat outside smelling of petrol...

The smell is stronger inside the car, and when I drive off from cold, I get to the junction at the top of my road (about 300 metres) and the car cuts out as I slow down...

When I restart, it's juddery for about 20 seconds, but then it appears to run fine (although still smelling of petrol...)

Anybody care to take an educated guess as to what is wrong? Thankyou

hmm, a pure guess (and me mums motor had a similar problem) is that one of the EVAP pipes may have come off the charcoal filter located under the boot floor in front of the spare wheel
