Clegg wants to see an increase in the overseas aid budget.
Discussion
According to the deputy PM, increasing aid will:
1 - reduce the risk of terrorism on UK streets and,
2 - reduce the number of asylum seekers in Britain.

k off Nick, instead of increasing the money we give how about we make sure the money we currently give is spent efficiently and not stolen or wasted by corrupt third world officials.

If the money is spent wisely on things that benefit Britain and that generates exports and improved balance of payments, that's good.
The natural worry is that the overseas aid budget will be run like most government run institutions - inefficiently with objectives that the majority of voters don't really agree with.

why on earth is this ringfenced? if its all bribes and the income to uk firms is more than the cost then fine but if its just sponsoring crap that doesnt work surely this cannot be a priority.
as for stopping terrorism have they considered not bombing countries and using that money to help them instead?

Well we've sent billions of pounds worth of lead, copper, DU, High Explosives, and Steel (to list just some of our generous donations) to Iraq and Afghanistan, and they're still not thankful.
Bloody ungrateful they are too, that stuff costs a fortune when it's been packaged up nicely.

Even though the taste in cars could be a lot worse, this £5m lot was bought with help from Brits' cash via our funding of the EU and its handouts to tinpots.
