Internet TV and iPlayer, plug & play?
Discussion
Dumb question for you.
I bought a Sony Bravia KDL-40EX503 a couple of weeks ago. The instruction manual doesn't really explain how to connect or use the internet TV/iPlayer on it, neither in the paper booklet or the built in on screen manual.
Presumably I just connect the TV to my internet home hub with an ethernet cable? If so, is it then plug & play? will the TV just recognise the internet connection and I re-tune to add the chanels, such as iPlayer?
I don't really need to spend £70 on the wireless USB dongle, so presumably I just need a few metres of ethernet cable?
Thanks, and apologies if it's a 'Too stupid to own a modern telly' question.

All 2010 UK models with Bravia Internet Video will get iPlayer, these are all the Freeview HD models. Software update is required but will be automatic if TV is left in standby connected to the network. Otherwise you can download from the Sony support website.
You may have to "Refresh Internet Channels" in Settings->Network after you have the update.
