Hows my driving?

I was sat behind a Merc Sprinter today on the M25 and yes he was being a cock (MLMing, braking every two seconds etc) and he had a hows my driving. It got me wondering if anyone had actually phoned one of these to complain? Is it private companys that offer this service? Or is the number link to the owner/company of the vehicle?

A girl at the office was talking about this the other day.

She phoned the number to complain about a truck driving stupidly and a gruff bloke at the other end of the line told her that without her full name, address and phone number he would not proceed with the call. Was told they needed it for their records.

She asked if she could report it without giving details (as she felt a bit intimidated) and they said no, not interested. So she hung up.

I had a row with a London United bus driver and followed it up with a complaint to the company, I was given the option of supplying a name and address if I wanted them to let me know the result, or just doing it anonymously.
