Was walking the Dog the other night, saw the lady from next door after walking maybe 200 yards havign seen her drive off when I set out, she was sat in her Discovery waiting outside the church, she said hello and that her daughters were at Brownies and she was waiting to pick them up.

Sort of struck me that it seemed overkill for picking up two young kids in daylight and good weather in a nice area, using a three tonne six cylinder car to drive a couple of hundred yards each way ? up to her and I may be missing something but she seemed a bit embarassed which made me think that it was how it seemed.

The chap next to my dads house drives an even shorter distance to pick up a Chinese meal, he is pretty fat so maybe its a bit too much effort or a really big meal.

Now I dont want to come over all holier than thou, because I am not perfect, it is their car, they pay for it and are well within their rights to drive wherever they want it just seems that as a nation we have run out of ideas other than taking the car, like Americans.

I just like to use the right tool for the job.

Paper Shop - Walk

Town Centre - Walk/Cycle

Birmingham/London - Train

Dropping kids off - car

Work - Cycle/Car

USA - Plane

Because you knew she was driving directly home after collecting her kids.

Did you put a tracker on her car, if not, you have no idea smile

Walking is for pansies.

I drive less than a mile to the station, why, because I'm lazy. Tar me with the same brush.
