Following on from dalecrx thread on the water temp sender unit that helpsrough running i bought one as it was cheap and seemed like a good idea!?But the sender unit i have is white and has larger push on tabs that are external to the sender not within the sender body.ihave a 97 4.0ltr HC so does anybody know a part number for this version as the only alternative seems to be to cut off the tabs and put smaller ones on-not really what i want to do.Also the sender unit itself seems to be screwed into a large brass nut that then screws into the swirl pot is this the same as others of this year???

You are talking about the otter switch not the water temp sensor. Totally different and not connected. The temp sensor is located in the front of the engine block. Bible has pictures of where it is and how to remove it.

To be honest if you are getting confused, might be worth you getting a copy!

Just under £11 from Lucas, just bought one myself, but don't know results yet as she's off the road for a make over.
