3 days into ownership and loving it!

Had my tamora from Tony Gilbert since monday and loved it used over £100 of fuel now driving it. the sound is just addictive. had to use it for my 60 mile commute last 2 days but my grans letting my borrow hers from tomorrow until I find a little run around. sods law today though.... 2 hour traffic jam in the car. car didnt overheat but after 1 hour 45 mins of being sat in first gear slowly crawling along and stopping a few warning codes flashed up- 248 and 249 F-Raam failure and 244 unknown. anyone know what these mean. all temperatures were spot on water never went above 94 and oil never went above 82. after leaving it all day until I drove home started it up with no warning codes and just a couple of times at junctions on the way home the 244 code very quickly flashed on but went straight off and its driving perfect. Just thought I would try and get some expert opinions to see if its ok. drove it gain tonight and nothing came on at all. its away in the garage now to be used just as a toy. also big recomendations to MSM insurance. I have just turned 21 and am paying £908 insurance 3000 miles year with £150 excess compared with £2000 for my TT previously with a £1750 excess with admiral. pics will be up once I have detailed it as its filthy from last few days a few million flys have lost there lives!

the performance is just stunning you will have a very good weekend! I was lucky to pick it up in the sun and had the day off work tuesday in the sun blasting round lanes all day! awesome cars! I will be starting a blog soon on my quest to perfection. want it concourse...

I've got a 120 mile drive back on Saturday, then Sunday and Monday off as well to do some driving.

I've gone for a 3000 mile policy but it's not much more to increase it to 5000 if I need to.

Be interested to see your blog, looking forward to keeping mine as well maintained and in good condition as possible too as the previous owners have done such a good job.

Still deciding whether to join the TVR CC or not, but think I probably will for a year at least. Might go to the local meet in Meriden next month to see a few cars and meet people.

Another vote here for MSM Insurance, not had to test them yet (fingers crossed it stays that way) but miles cheaper than anyone else with all the trimmings too.

I've been a member for a number of years and think they're good. It does vary region to region but worthwhile for such a small outlay.

I joined it as it saved me around £185 on the insurance and plus you get the free magazine etc it seems well worth it also technical support from a local representative

MSM offered me 10% discount for being a TVR CC member OR a Pistonheads member, so just stated the latter! Still think I will join anyway though.

I think I will be spending even more time car cleaning now, with 3 cars to clean!

im going to look at a peogeot 206 1.4 hdi for my daily commute 68mpg was spending £60 a week in fuel in my TT but that will only cost me £20 a week which means £40 of v power for the tamora every friday night for the weekend

£40 ain't going to last long!! Put the photo's up once you've 'detailed' it. Can never have too many photo's of TVR's!

On the fault code list I have, 148, 149 & 144 (none of the codes I have go into the 200's are

Power supply control =0x90 =144
Stepper FRAM corrupt =0x94 =148
Time clock failed =0x95 =149


I get random codes every once in a while, they come and go I would not be worried at this point until they appear on a regular basis.

after leaving it 24 hours took it for a right blast earlier with the top down all faults have gone and god I am loving it! big clean tomorrow hopefully its filthy. I had to rush it back home tonight as it started raining and left the roof at home luckily got it away in time. pics tomorrow hopefully will borrow me dads new slr
