Cerbera to Tuscan, Maybe.

I have had my mint and very reliable 4.2 now for nearly 8yrs, and was thinking of a possible change to a Tuscsan. Has anyone on here had both and how did they differ? What do you think? I am of course not expecting a completly inpartial view, but try your best chaps.

Tuscan is a great car - stunning and more delicately pretty that the Cerb. I haven't really had the Cerb (4.5) long enough but I THINK
Tuscan less "cocooning" than the Cerb.
Cerb interior is awesome even compared to Tuscan (which makes ALL other cars seem crap)
Cerb is nicer inside IMHO (and I have the Tuscan seats post 2000 in mine)
Cerb noise is better
Tuscan has a reputation for engine issues BUT I think they aren't as widespread as you think. Plenty now at v.good value with rebuilds - Powers or Str8six seem to be well regarded....can also upgrade to 4.3 or 4.5 and around 400BHP with a decent lump of torque now.
Clutches last 20K miles
Stock suspension is poor, handling can be poor too. Seemingly easily cured but again there are chalk n cheese ones from the same year.
Tuscan comes alive when you hoof it - feels a bit pottery at low revs (and mine was a RR)
Tuscan has a great "roof off" feel but roof off is a bit of a pain - if you aren't careful you can easily scratch it.
Chassis issues seem less prevalent than Cerb - but they are younger.
Any maintenance other than oil check is a major pain due to "big bonnet" this used to REALLY annoy me as I have engineers blood in me.

If you have gone off the Cerb - buy one. I wouldn't have sold mine if we weren't just about to have a child (he arrived Monday!!!!!!) BUT I would probably have a cerb over one now.
Rear windows can disappear (ensure you get one post 2001 or with a larger rear screen)

YKB has one of each and has had for ages (both speed sixes) so if you are lucky he'll reply.

handling on mine wasn't unique - it would scare the bejesus out of me on the wrong roads. however some say its great. The Tuscan lot are a good bunch too!

Agreed on the Cerb interior. Better than most cars. Just seems strange that TVR never managed to improve on that with the later cars. The T-car interiors seem bland in comparrison.

That would be the right car for me. I would like to keep with the same colour i already have.But i am just not in the market for one yet.I want to part with a few before i buy something else.Lovely looking car though.
