Driver side footwell blower

Hi, I recently bought (3 weeks ago) a 97 500, and was reading the bible i got, it mentions an auxilary driver side footwell blower and vent, i cannot see one on mine just an air vent on the transmission tunnel.
Was this fitted to all 500's or just some/none, as with the roof on its quite hot inside even with the heater on cold, i just drive around with the window open, i have read some of the comments on the forum as this seems normal. has anyone got this aux blower and does it make any difference?
Also i noticed a footwell light on the passenger side, lucky really as it was dark and on all the time, must have knocked the switch with my knee getting out and only avoided a flat battery by chance.

Hope you are enjoying the new toy.
W.r.t. the extra blower, this seems to be limited to the early Griffs. My 2000yr Griff 500 doesnt have one.
The heat issue is one that also has a lot of previous info written about it. You can replace the heater valve with a new one. They are from a VW Golf or Polo I believe. I couldnt get mine to stop blowing hot until I replaced it. I havent yet got round to wiring it back into the electics yet so to change temp, my passenger has to feel under the dash for the valve. Not the best but its certainly cooler.
Some TVR's seem to have a heater bypass system which is supposed to reduce thermal shock if the heater is fully closed off as it forms a circulation loop for the coolant, other Grifs dont seem to have this - mine being one of them.

Thanks for the reply, i guessed TVR being TVR.... it would be fitted to some and not others!
i can live with the heater as is anyway just open the window or roof off.
I went out today to fill up with some v power, and it was sort of fifty miles before i got home again (shell gararge is 5 miles away) i an really enjoying the 500... it has effortless performance & makes such a great noise! i do miss my old S3 in some ways but i can't have both.
