How dirty is your '5?!
Discussion
My '5' never gets dirty - As soon as a little bit of dust is showing on it my wife is out there with the shampoo and polish cleaning it.
Here's my '5' - I paid £1,000 and spent £250 on a new hood. That's all - sailed through the MOT and after reading on here about sill problems I had a real good prod around underneath. It's been fully undersealed and it's as solid as a new one - I am one lucky chap

Wow yes you are. Is it the 1600 or 1800? Where did you find it? Good price!
It's a 1600 but it's still quite nippy. I did have problems with it a while ago where it was governed to 115mph but you kind chaps on here pointed me to the governer screw and now it shows 125 flat out but I know it's not really going that fast.I am so happy with it and wouldn't swap it - I will buy another later model in a while but will still keep this one. It's the best car I have ever had.

I came about it by chance. A friend of my sister imported it three years ago as it is, but unfortunately became ill shortly after buying it so it sat in a garage undriven. The poor chap died and his son offered it to my sister and she didn't want it so asked me if I did. I was a devout biker and wasn't considering buying a car but went to have a look at it anyway. Glad I did, as soon as I saw it I said I would have it. I intended to just sell it on for a small profit but by the time I had driven it the 40 miles home I fell in love with it. So now I am like you all, a lover of the '5'

Mine is meant to bed red but looks more of a light brown colour most the time. I live in a very rural area where mud, pot holea and puddles are everywhere and pulling onto muddy verges is an every journey occurance.
In my opinion leaving it dirty makes it look alot more butch!
It gets washed occassionally and i do always ensure to clean the inside of my arches and any other potential rust areas!

I'm a bit of a polisher...
Had the Eunos a week and have already compiled quite a list of things I want to do on it, but started yesterday with a bit of a clean around the engine bay, door shuts and other hidden areas which probably haven't seen any love for years and certainly were dirty: http://www.autounity.net/index.php?showtopic=13375

Over Summer I'll wash it almost every weekend, not to keep it shiny as with the miles I do it's filthy again by Monday evening, but rather to get "up close" and look for any niggles. Basically a good excuse to check tyres, lights, and it's easier to spot stuff like rust spots or door-dings whilst it's clean.
Come Winter I just don't see the point, so instead just pressure hose the bodywork and arches every day, keep the windows and lights clear, and brush the wheels occasionally. Enough to keep the salt at bay without freezing my arse off.
