It seems very cheap and such an epic car... I guess it depends how it was damaged but still interesting prospect..

Yeah, I mean, 600bhp hand-made Aston Martins are pretty boring.

When these were new I used to lust over them. Now I think they look hideous. The interiors are shocking too!

I know someone who has a Virage of similar vintage (the one with 3 square headlights each side) and he paid similar money for that several years ago, after paying finder's commission to someone for a very long search. No idea what the comparative rarity is with the one in the OP, but it suggests the price is in the right territory.

The guy I know brought the Virage on one of our Ring trips a few years back, and was perfectly happy for any of us to take it round if we wanted to; however, Big Boys Rules applied and none of us could quite swallow the risk! So, pax laps only. Like a St James drinking club on the inside!

They're beautiful cars, but no, in answer to the thread's title, I wouldn't have the balls.

As per above that can't possibly be right, can it? Almost £20,000 a year on average?

Advert is a bit back street, and if I had 65k spare I would consider it, but not from that seller with that advert. The car is poorly presented aswell. Also the performace isn't mind blowing considering the spec.

I don't think they're boring, but I'd rather spend the money on something not knackered with questionable resale value that weighs more than my house.
I know the advert's a bit odd but if it was genuine and the car is good then it's a pretty cheap slice of ultimate Aston.

It's a luxury GT. They weigh a lot. It's only 100kg more than a 599 (yet has 4 seats and a far more opulent interior) and several hundred kg less than a Conti GT, employing various weight saving methods compared to the earlier models. It's a unique mix of old and new.

As for performance not being 'mind blowing' from the other poster, apparently 0-100 in 7.5 seconds and 200mph isn't fast enough? Christ!

Not sure about the car but could the number plate have any decent value? Few grand perhaps? wink

They've advertised it for £65k, but if you look in the YouTube video they've commented they want £60k (though the video has been up since November 2008, so it's clearly not selling itself).

Still, it's got to be a special feeling opening the bonnet to find a big V8 and two superchargers...

They're a pretty well established salvage company, certainly been around for 15+ years, so I wouldnt worry about buying from them.
I've no idea on the value of that Aston though.

YES! Its been avaiabl for years. Or, to put it another way: its not been driven in years

As for the £300k servicing, that includes the conversion. They started with the Vantage, and then spent more £££ in the service department converting it to a V600.

...but this isnt £300k, so I would still wnat tot know what else has been done (and why)

Put it this way: its been available for a few years now, and none of the Aston garages have picked it up, repaired it and sold it on. This should tell you something...
