why do evening track days have to finish in the autumn ,why cant we have flood lit night time sessions same as singapore f1 ? sure this could be possible and not cost a fortune at uk tracks, would certainly be different we dont get that much frosty weather in autumn ,would also give tracks extra revenue cant see why this would not work ,lets have some reaction

Can anyone name a circuit with sufficient floodlighting?

Oh and +1 for the noise comment.

Yep, noise and cost should finish that one off.

The lighting would have to be very strong to satisfy the normal safety and marshalling requirements I would think which would be an issue for cost of power and on environmental grounds.

Anyway, you can get a daytime winter trackday at a lot of circuits for the cost of a summer evening session so there's still great value to be had.

Dubai autodrome run floodlit track evenings.. Not convenient for most but excellent fun if you're there!

Cold tarmac, inconsistent conditions and fewer sessions. I've seen too many try to save £100 on a bike TD then end up with a bill for thousands for the damage to their bike.

We don't run sessions much on car days so all you lose is maybe an hour at the end of the day for light.

Red flags can be an issue but you can get days in mid summer with perfect conditions where that's a problem, sometimes there are less offs when the conditions are tricky because drivers are more cautious and build up the pace more sensibly.

Maybe it's less of an issue for cars than bikes but TBH I've had almost as many fine winter days as summer ones so I think winter trackdays are fantastic value.
