My Classic Beetle
Discussion
Acquired this hunk of junk in exchange for my old Puma. Needs a fair bit of work doing to it, the pictures really do it justice! Its a heap.
I plan to keep it on the road as long as possible. As soon as my Dad clears his stuff out of my garage, I shall be removing the interior to inspect for rust and hopefully rectify it.
Gave it a quick polish today to protect whats left of the paint, proof that you can polish a turd, but it just becomes a slightly more shiney turd!
Thats all for now, as I'm skint. Shall report on my findings when I strip out the interior when I finally get it in the garage!

Sure looks shiny and clean.
How is it mechanically? A runner, I assume?
The pictures make it look a lot nicer than it is. There is quite a bit of rust on it, but I can live with it until I can afford some new panels and get it resprayed. How is it mechanically? A runner, I assume?
Currently Sorn, it runs quite well, it passed an MOT last year with some welding, not sure if it has expired though as I havn't had the documents from my Boss yet. He bought it for his Son, who never bothered with it, so it has been sat around for over a year.
I think you are being unduly harsh on your old bug. Tough as old boots they are, although admittedly they are prone to a little bit of rust! Here's a pic of ours, was the O/H's daily runner for two years, solid rain or shine, and never missed a beat. Sadly missed. You are gone Bertie, but not forgotten.
