What next after Stelvio?
Discussion
Wanted th thank all of you who gave me some top tips on taking on the Stelvio Pass. Left Blighty on Sunday 19th September from Portsmouth took the tunnel to Calais blatted under beautiful sunshine through France and Germany in Davos Switzerland for pizza, beer and bed. Monday 20th September the real adventure began once a beautiful clear skies as we took the route 28 that lead out to the Italian border an awesome road but then Stelvio in a Caterham on a quiet morning was probably the best couple of hours of my life. Having completed Stelvio we re-entered Switzerland and wound our way to San Moritz and on to Lake Como to finish the day with a celebratory drink!!
Drove back on Friday 879 miles through the San Gottardo racing up to Basel before hitting heavy rain we carried on getting home 17 hours later. The advice I got from here was imperative as was the rebuild on my rear axle the week before depature by Fibreglass Services at Yapton West Sussex.
Thanks again for all the tips and advice, just one thing, where to next on a blatting road trip?

Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse - definitively better than stelvio
+1And Timmelsjoch and Stallersattel and Bielerhohe
and Arlbergpass and Hahntennjoch and the Sellraintal road.
For starters.
I was there earlier this year. We went on there quite late in the day, and it closes at about 7.00. We got to the top at about 8, so by the time we were on our way down no one had been let on for an hour.
This meant that once I passed a few cars and a caravan it was for all intents and purposes a one way street. For about 10 miles from the top to the bottom I was the only vehicle I saw was me. Quite possibly the best thing I've done so far in my life.
