smile - 911's on camera
Discussion
Does anyone have figures for accident levels by make/model?
I really doubt there is a correlation between the "Top 10" on each list and, if so, quite neatly demonstrates that there is not a simple link between speed and accidents/deaths.
I wonder how many of the Saxo's stopped by the police had bits of plastic from Halfords sellotaped on????

It's amusing but you can make stats read what you want.
If anything it is a testimony to the 911 being the world's most popular and enduring sportscar, which happens to be a lot more practical and easy to drive than many others on the road.
Also, it refers to the data being on vehicles pulled over by police as well... surely a 911 is more likely to get pulled than a Ford Mundano etc.

A while ago I spent a very boring day trawling through official statistics
on this very subject from the Dept of Transport website.
Can't remember the exact figures now (but feel free to find them yourself
) but from memory the highest percentage of vehicle accidents and thefts by car make on a pro-rata basis was the late 80's 911, followed by 944, followed by Metro.
At the time I had a 944 and a Metro, and guess what the Metro was nicked
