renault scenic dci gearbox?

hi wondering if anyone can help, getting a grinding/rattle from engine or gearbox when changing down gears and engine is under load. only when changing down though its fine changing up the gears???

Ah, OK. I've seen them mesh gears with the crown wheel. Not pretty.

cracked syncro ring? - has the box got any oil in it - sometimes an oil change shuts them up/cures them

she is in the miles high club thou. will have to check the gearbox oil tomorrow.
