Can anyone tell me what the difference is, apart from the price, between the Garmin Nuvi 1340 and the Garmin Nuvi 1340T?
ie. what does the T do?

I think it means that it comes with a TMC receiver/power cord.

I was considering the 1340t as it has the traffic info, what price have you found it for?

I think it was on Tesco online I saw them, can't be sure though.
So T stands for traffic?

Yup T = traffic with automatic traffic avoidance (both auto and off, but prompt it for avoidance).

I don't need the T bit, so I've ordered a 1340 off Amazon for £102.99. Seems a reasonable price for a new gadget to play with, with the added bonus of making Mrs. Tunku redundant when touring. I can now turn off the Sat Nag. biggrin

Got it today, so had a drive around. Seems pretty good, but then I've never had one. I've done 150 miles I notice, while playing with the SatNav. Tonight I've registered it and it invited me to update the software and maps, so I did. Takes fecking ages, looks about halfway through downloading, and has been doing it for about three quarters of an hour. Must be doing a lot of verifying on the download, or something.
Anyway, when it's in action doing its thing it seems to update bloody fast. High speed U-turns don't even phase it. I like it.

Im thinking of getting one of these, looks pretty good value, Amazon do them for £96 but you can get it for as little as £76 if you shop around!

Is it possible to load route files onto the 1340?

I like to plan routes on the PC, using Google Earth/Tyre etc, and then load them onto the SatNav.

Thanks.
