Selling a car help
Discussion
Morning all
I have had my 2006 120d Sport up for sale for about a week now with PH & AT and getting next to no interest.I think I have pitched my price at £8399ono for a 67000 ml car about right so is it just a bad time to sell a higher value vehicle just now or am I too expensive?
Many thanks

Thanks all I would post a link to the ad but I did this before and the mods deleted it as it was unfair to the other members.I do understand this by the way and I am not trying to cause trouble. Here is the wording though.
BMW 120d Sport 2006 56 plate in Jet Black. The car has just over 66000 miles with 1 previous owner from new.MOT & Tax with full documented service history & all manuals handbooks etc.The car was serviced in Aug last month. As you would expect it drives beautifully having in my opinion the best diesel engine in the range. All tyres brakes & exhaust are in perfect working order. This is the Sport model so comes with automatic dual zone digital climate control. It also has the brilliant BMW sports seats which are multi adjustable both manually and electrically.Electric windows all round with BMW business stereo system which includes ipod mp3 input & Nokia Bluetooth. The car comes with the optional carbon fibre dash package.A brilliant car which manages to be comfortable & quiet with superb roadholding. It is also economical and cheap to tax & insure. This is a genuinely regretful sale of a stunning car by a non smoking owner. We believe you will not be disappointed and can buy with confidence. Please feel free to call us with any questions and we will do our best to answer them.Reasonable offers are invited. Please no canvassers or agencies

I had my very competively priced 335i on PH and At for 3 weeks. Only interest was from a guy called Manuel, from Ireland who wanted me to pay me the full amount and ship it to poland (due to congestion in the Singapore seaport natch).
I nearly took him up on his kind offer.
Could be the time of year mate, cold weather had reminded people Christmas is coming etc etc.

bullet point the features and options.
list when tax and mot are due, when brake discs tyres etc were last changed.
when was the last service.
oh, and why does it suddenly become "we" at the end of the advert?
Noticed that too; the last couple of sentences sound like a trade advert.list when tax and mot are due, when brake discs tyres etc were last changed.

But otherwise people aren't interested in hearing about the 'brilliant this' and the 'brilliant that', they're mostly concerned about servicing, tyres, tax and test and the other variables that separate one car from another.
Best of luck with the sale though, hope you find a buyer soon!

Also, tell me how many services, who by, when and what mileage.
I also want to know if there are any scratches, dents, marks on the bodywork and wheels. What condition is the interior in?
All the details that differ from one 'identical' car to the next.

Sorry, but this sounds like something I'd hear from an Arfur Daley plot selling £500 snotters. As other have said, more facts and less opinions could help.
As said before, more facts less opinion. The ad is too confusing going from subject to subject.
I usually has 3 or 4 paragraphs. One about the model of the car, one about the exterior features plus anything wrong (if appropriate), one about interior including equipment then one about the service record plus any other info such as owners etc.
Try to cram too much into one big disorganised paragraph and people will just stop Reading.
Make the pictures as appealing as possible, nice and sunny if poss. One from each corner, one boot, one bonnet and a couple of inside!
Sorted!!
