Spent the day on Salisbury Plain photographing the helicopters that use it for training and testing.

I think they're great photos. Always had a soft spot for the Gazelle.

Fabulous pics.

Love/hate relationship with the Gazelle. Think the one in the pics was used for developing voice activated flight systems.

Cracking shots. Were you aware that training was taking place or did you simply roll up on the off-chance? What was your vantage point and did anyone with a gun and/or large dog try to dissuade you from clicking away?

Well it on Salisbury plain so you can just stick to local byways, it's actually an airfield and Hercules carry out drops and landings sometimes, there is no fence and occasionally you can get a visit from the Warden but as longs as your on the public land they can't/won't do anything. Common sense. The crews do like the cameras and receiving the photos but just don't get in there way and give them sometime without pointing the camera at them.

I was lucky enough to fly the Merlin and Chinook sim at Benson 2hrs seemed like 2 mins...
