Is there a 6"x9" or 6" round subwoofer?

My recently aquired toy has an ok stereo but its getting on a bit and someone has overcranked it and now all the speakers 'rattle'.

A new Sony cd player has been fitted and I have been donated a set of Fli 5.25" components for the dash area.

The rear speakers currently are 5" co-axials in a 6"x9" mounting.

I am wanting a bit more bass but dont have the room for a sub-box anywhere.

I have somewhere to hide a small 2-channel amp - so was wondering if there was some kind of small Sub - or a bass happy set of speakers to fit?

Or any other ideas - budget of not a lot, but I already have a full amp wiring kit and lots of speaker cable!

I have Genesis 6X9 subs in the rear parcel shelf of my motor and they sound great. Would recommend them.

I don't think you have many options though, what's your budget?

Been looking and there is a 6" sub but they are £100 each!

Also found a pair of kenwood 6"x9" subs with amp for £120.

What kind of bass do they give - dont want a lot but its very tinny know just on the front components!

You'll need to make sure that any 'subwoofer' you buy is an infinite baffle/free air sub, otherwise it will both sound awful and damage the speaker. Normal subwoofers are designed to work in a sealed or near-sealed box, which limits their travel due to the pressure of the air inside.

I'd probably go for a 6x9 to 165mm converter plate and shove a couple of half-decent 165mm coaxial speakers in.
