Hi All
OK, I am a very excited bunny. I just had my first 80 mile run in our new MCS convertible. I am dead impressed with the handling, performance (even with running in restrictions) and the Harman Kardon Hifi. I was actually surprised to find it had cruise control as it was not mentioned in any documentation I saw, and just came as part of one of the boxes I ticked.
Mrs Spunagain and I are sharing it (paying half each) so I got to chose the "S" and the HK hi-fi, and she got the colour scheme. So it is Chilli red with black stripes and Black inside with red trim and leather bolsters. It is quite garish but suits the fun nature of it. Perfect for commuting 40 miles each way to work and the school run!
Any way I digress - a lot... still excited!
My question - what is the etiquette for waving to other Minis?
After years of MGs, Lotuses and TVRs, I merrily wave (well, more of a salute than wild armed windmilling) to other like minded enthusiasts and get a warm feeling when they (pretty much always) wave back. Is it the done thing in the Mini world, or will other mini drivers assume I am just suffering from some sort of cramp and have pity on me?
I suspect waving at original Minis is not the done thing although waving in in a Pete Wheeler TVR to a Lilley or even Trevor era TVR always got a wave back!
What are peoples experiences?
Cheers

Mostly this
They're so common, you'd spend your whole journey waving! When they were new on the road, people used to wave though. Give it a go!Edited by hyperblue on Tuesday 28th September 13:14
When I got my first one in 2004 everyone used to wave, including one worrying time in North Wales when a car coming the other way was going crazy, lights flashing - horn going etc - I started to slow down thinking they were warning me of something - then I realised it was a MINI and turns out they were just being "friendly"
Anyway - no one does it anymore, way too many of them around.
