Seeing as these wagons were the first incarnation of the 4X4 that was designed far more for the Town then the Country, and seeing as there seem to be a few in the hands of PHers and seeing as autumn approaches anyone up for finding a suitable pseudo country pub for pint, pie and chatter?

Excluding us standard wheelbase owners are you? Racist. wink

Make the pub within 20 miles of my house and I might risk it. Further than that and the RRC (or it's driver) starts getting nervous about the viability of the return journey!

Hi mate how are you doing?

Of course non LSE owners would be welcome. Someone has to get the rounds in. biggrin

I was thinking of somewhere just north of London, some nice pubs out Herts way once free of Watford.

Not bad, thanks. How about you?

Not sure why I've now got that Two Ronnies sketch in my mind...

"He [looking left] looks down on me because he drives a LSE and he [looking right] looks up to me because he drives a Defender..."

Anyway, I think North of London might be a trip too far for the old girl - I'm down in Kent nowadays.

biggrin

Some good pubs just south of Gatwick.

Let's see if anyone else is up for it. I'm easy on venue.

I'm keen.

How is the Overfinch LSE going? Still got a major drinking problem?

I'd be up for a meet - once I've picked mine up, which should be on Saturday!

I know of a few nice little pubs in the local area - how about The Plough in Hyde Heath (postoce HP6), near Amersham in Bucks? Plenty or parking there, either in the car park on the village common opposite.

Nearer Watford there's a few in Sarratt that are worth a look too!

I'll give the Sarrat pubs a swerve. They are full of old pensioners who will spend all my time telling me how they remember me when I used to be 'this' tall. biggrin

I'm happy with anywhere btween the M40 and M1.
