changing tie bar bush
Discussion
The tie bar bushes must be well perished on original cars by now.
First - chalk up the back nut - or use paint - to register the position. Take off the front nut.
Then I think there are two bolts holding it onto the lower wishboe - remove them.
You should be able to jiggle it out, then replace the rubber bit (I use purple "compliance bushes" from RT)
Put it back in, replace the front rubber plus big washers, then the nut, job's a good'un!

i got my tie bar bushes from steve heath but was told not to fit it with the large washer!
is it that you can't get the ball joint out of the hole on the hub or you can't get the track rod end off the end of the steering rack? the latter is probably the harder of the two jobs and is best to try and loosen the lock nut on the trackrod whilst the ball joint is still attached to the hub. you'll need wd40, one big arse spanner and alot of weetabix! you might as well buy a new track rod end while your at it, think i only payed £20 quid for a pair, can't remember what they are pinched from.
