Anyone got the SH bonnet hinges (Cerb/Chim)?

Just wondering what people thought of them, worthwhile upgrade? Easy to fit?

I have them on a Chim and they are certainly miles better than the original hinges. Whilst not 'difficult' to install, they do take a bit of fiddling and tweaking to get right and will never afford a 'quick release' facility of the same ease that the Griff benefits from although it will be easier than completely removing the hinge. In my view, the appearance and clamping could be substantially improved by the provision of a 'two-holed' washer or bridge to go under the screw heads that fasten the hinge body to the car (there are, of necessity, elongated holes to allow adjustment and the edges of these are exposed - at least on mine - with it all clamped up). Having said that, it bothered me so much I never bothered making any up, which I initially intended (and will now do). On the whole, recommended, but capable of being better still (would love a truly quick release version, perhaps with a bayonet catch or similar if Steve is listening)

They do come with a two hole washer/clamp so that the hinge can be positioned easier.

They have been redesigned so that the rose joint is held in place by a single bolt which is on the side. Undo and the rose joint pulls out making it truly quick release.

The website has the pictures of the older mk 1 version. I'll update next week.

Got them on my chim too. They were a little fiddle to get right, but think mine were early days units from Steve and still being tweaked. They are miles better though IMO.

Cool, well anything has got to be better than the standard setup of trying to get a spanner on the nut from within the airbox bodywork! Will get my order in tomorrow!

I fitted a pair recently, and as a result emailed Steve some suggestions on possible improvements. I don't know if mine were "MK1" versions. They were actually very similar to some alloy hinges I had made up a decade ago, other than the sleeved bolt the rose joint sits in - but as I'm sure Steve will admit, these didn't afford "quick release" hinted at.

I'm sure Steve's are still worth fitting though if your originals are tatty, you can't beat a bit of ally.
