Ok,

This is coming on Channel One (ex-virgin) "soon".

Anyone have any more info as to how soon this will be? I am dying to see if this series is as good as the one when I was a child.

I think we can pretty much guarentee that it wont be as good as the original... frown

Although.. like Blakes 7, some things are just best left as a memory, not rewatched...

I saw this on Syfy earlier this year, I stopped watching after 4 or 5 episodes because it didn't grab me to watch more. Better than Flash Forward though.

I got to episode 3 or 4.

Didn't grab me to be honest, and I then realised I was going through the motions of watching it in the hope that it got better.

Same thing happened with Flashforward. Forced myself to go through the first 'half' of the series to the break, then last week deleted the whole of the second half of the series from the Sky Plus.

Couldn't bring myself to invest another 12 hours with the knowledge that there is no more after that.

Me too.

I thought it dragged on a bit and the whole series could easily have been covered in 3-4 episodes.

Still, it's one of these programmes that's handy to have on the planner for when there's nothing else on.

It clearly started out with a fairly big budget, which was then slashed as the CGI gets noticeably worse after the first few episodes. I still watched it to the end as it was reasonably enjoyable and will probably watch the second series.

So *that's* what Channel One is? biggrin

How many seasons have there been on this new V? I think I've seen two, but it's been spread out over a couple of years, so I don't know if I've caught up with it yet.

EDIT: checked the IMDB, looks like it's just the one season so far, according to the last episode I saw.

How does it compare to the original ? Or will it ruin my memories forever ?

Never saw the original so I can't comment. As the original was a mini-series it probably moved at a quicker pace than this does.

Hmm, this does not bode well. I guess if it is poor then I will give up on it quickly enough..... WHEN it finally starts on CH1 that is!

Sorry JasandJules but it isn't great, it's very slow compared to the original and, like a lot of new programs, doesn't really answer anything in the hope that you come back for more. (I also started a thread about it when I saw it was coming to SyFy, back in April time I think)

I will however watch the second season as the first season cliff hanger has made me want to watch the second season.

For those who haven't seen the original, watch it, if you can ignore the dodgy Special FX (it was mid '80's after all) and the rather naff at times acting the storyline is really good!

The original one was way too slow.

This one is quite good, slight change to the original story (and quite a nice change to it, won't give any spoilers).

The season is returning in the next few weeks, and apparently Jane Badler is getting the role of Annas mother, which is about the best bit of casting in recent memory.

I'd definitely recommend it and try and persevere - it definitely gets better. Anna really is one seriously evil/twisted attractive alien.

How odd, I thought this version was too slow! I love perception! biggrin Definitely right about Anna, she is seriously evil!! that sounds interesting about Jane Badler. I heard the second season was coming soon, is that in UK too or just the US?
