Volvo (pardon me!) Maya Yellow - any out there?

I have to admit I am rather taken by the Volvo Maya Yellow colour - the deep gold metallic on the C70. I am considering a full respray, and maybe this could be the colour. I think it would look stunning on the Chimaera, but comments are cordially invited!

Yup, I've got a Maya yellow S60 for me daily gadding about. It looks great when cleaned, and doesn't show the dirt too badly either. Black leather interior looks the business with it too. I'm only 40, so maybe I'm a bit too young for the car, but it's got a 5 cylinder turbo, a truly awesome stereo, more kit than the entire Man Utd squad and it cost less than a 318se BMW. Oh, and theres not a straight line on it anywhere PLUS the gun turret is now a delete option.

There's a pic of a Chim on there – now sold – I think it may be *approximately* the colour you're after, that's if I'm thinking of the right Volvo gold colour.

You'll soon find it, there's only five Chims on there.

Mmmm, not so sure about that one! The Volvo colour is a deeper shade, almost a burnt orange rather than a gold. It is very in your face, and people either love it or loathe it.

I'm going to have to find a Volvo dealer and check it out in detail. I saw it on a c70 on the motorway yesterday, but it was very sunny, which tends to make colours look good, especially metallics. If its p*ssing down tomorrow I'll track down a dealer, hopefully they'll have somethinh in that colour so I can see how it looks on a dull day.

If all else fails then Catalunya Splash looks a possibility (www.standox.com).

Sorry then Phil, I've not seen the Volvo colour you're on about – I'll keep me eyes peeled for one.

What colour would you have called that Chim – BRG – Bloody Rubbish Gold I'd call it

Like the Catalunya Splash although the wife's Amaranth MGF goes a bit bluey in some lights like that funky Chromaflair one.

How about Blue Rinse Gold? Sorry to whoever bought the car, but it is a bit of a limp colour. There used to be a set of dealer promo cards with that colour car on them - I'm surprised they sold any cars at all!

The colour on the C70 Coupe is a darker gold. Maya pearl is lighter (I think it's only on the S60 at the moment) and it is a much classier colour. (well I would say that wouldn't I!!!)
I did try to specify the matching tartan slippers but sadly these were on back order at the time

Thats the one (the top one). I think! Oh bugger, I am confused now! I'm pretty sure the one I've seen was the Saffron Pearl. Nice innit? But the Maya Yellow one looks hot too! I think the top one would suit the Chim curves better. Still need to see one in other than Saharan sunshine though!

Co0incidentally, the Lotus Bodyshop banner at the top of the page (at the moment) shows an Esprit in pretty much the same colour! An omen?
