Paying on exit from car park
Discussion
I'm thinking of those car parks where you put your ticket in a machine, then put money in according to how long you've been parked, then go off and look for your car.
How long do you have between paying and getting the car out? I made the mistake the other day of paying while an elderly relative went off to use the gents, but got the car out OK at least 10 minutes later.
Also, if you pay after say 65 mins and get charged for 'up to 2 hours'. Would that mean you're OK for at least 55 minutes or is the period of grace the same as if you had paid after 119 minutes?

I had problems in such a car park (Basingstoke Festival Place) after 30 minutes once. I didn't have my hands free and someone phoned me just before I was due to drive off. edited to say - a few years ago I was stuck for 4 horus trying to leave the Oracle Car Park in Reading (big car park, I was on the top floor, Christmas etc). My ticket worked fine. Maybe they adjust the grace period according to queue levels?
