I remember the Almera one based on The Sweeney and the follow up based on The Professionals which still raise a smile.

Any memories of good/bad car ads??

Pug something, the "Nice car, wanna show me what it can do?" line.

The Mitsubishi Carisma, the car they didn't want you to have advert where some giant freight ship has all the Carismas on board. They should have sunk it.

And I seem to recall a citroen advert, maybe for the BX or the Visa - anyway, it was racing across a desert.

I can only think of bad ones! Has anyone seen the advert for the Alfa Giuletta (sp?) with Uma Thurman. Really annoying advert! so so bad!

I quite like the Honda advert with the guy driving various Honda cars/bikes and ending up in a hot air baloon.

The Nissan Almera GTI one from the thread title is great. I found the Citroen "reassuringly German (made in France) one quite funny.

It's not strictly a "car" advert, but it is from a car manufacturer. This is my favourite ever:

The ones I remember from my childhood are:

Land Rover defender - winching itself up a dam (but how did it get over the lip at the top though...?)

Montego - generally arsing round trying to find a parking space (like Ikea on a Saturday)


Whilst not car related, my favourite add at the moment is spec savers "Harrison, have you destroyed them all?" one, but only because it was filmed in Croydon near where I work.
