The media and party conferences
Discussion
Why do the media have such a thing for the party conferences?
It forms the headlines in the news and takes over whole current affairs programmes.
The peculiar thing about it is they report every little speech as though they will change our lives without any apparent realisation that it is really a group of like minded people telling each other things they want to hear without any of it actually being what they intend to, or can, do.
They even did it with the LibDems when they were fairly unlikley to do anything with their policies.
Anyone know why they do this every year for three weeks and does anyone on here actually care?

The whole thing is getting out of control, the utter histeria over Milibland is beginning to get on my nerves, radio 1 news have incessantly gushed about him (typical pro labour bbc) since he was announced as the leader. Watching the news last night with journo's and camera crews falling over each other and shouting innane questions at him just makes them look the utter fools they are.
