I'm looking to replace my '03 Impreza WRX with something a bit more economical. After 7 years and 125K miles it has served me well but it's time for it to go.

I like Japanese cars mainly because they are reliable and have always had Hondas or Subarus for the last 15 years or so.

So, with about £12-15K to spend I think I have the choice of...

a) Honda Accord Diesel - might be able to get an '08 facelift
b) Subaru Legacy Diesel - are Scooby diesels any good? I do love 4WD.
c) Lexus IS220d - I've heard the engines are pretty crap by most standards but I want a good audio system.
d) Toyota Avensis - Waaaayyyy too boring.

Or should I go German and get something like a Skoda Octavia?

Any opinions or alternatives gratefully received.

Do yourself a favour, forget all that 4-cylinder diesel crap and get something with a S6 or V6. They sound miles nicer, and are still pretty economical.

As long as it's the previous Legacy and not the new ugly one then go for that.

Really like this one.
