Mrs s pointed me towards this "news" story this evening in our local rag.. Seems to me that the young chap is trying to get some kind of compensation for his inability to ride his motorbike..

So whilst driving along Spetchley Road you had to brake suddenly and the car following you had to swerve to avoid hitting you and in doing so hit a postbox. I presume Mr Wells, you are happy that you take fully blame for the other drivers actions and allow them to claim from your insurance?
Hang on whilst I hang out the "low flying pig" warning sign.....

L-Plate x 20 year old = lack of experience.
He now has much more experience of the way things are and I'd bet money he will never get caught out like that again .... but, unfortunately some folks never negotiate that steep early learning curve in their younger driving or riding days.
Experience always comes at a price be it on two wheels, or in four. Despite the thumb injury, he was a lucky boy. Lets hope he really has learned from that unfortunate experience and is a better rider/driver as a result ... With the passing of time, if he thinks a bit more deeply about it, he could come to realise it could be a future life saving lesson for him.

Had a biker do this to me too - I was in the left lane approaching a roundabout, he tried to overtake me on my left. He thought better of it when I indicated left (in plenty of time) and his emergency stop caused him to lose the front wheel and drop the bike on the wet tarmac.
I stopped to see if he had actually hit me, and he had not, so I went on my way. He noted my plate and company name (signwritten on the car) and reported me to the company (not the police luckily) for knocking him off the bike and leaving the scene!
I was lucky my car had not been washed for a while as it was clear that the dust was not even disturbed and I had made no contact - All his own fault
