The kit car mag
buy the way just had car re-maped 422 bhp at the fly so im well pleased
had new injectors 600cc and had boost taken up to 1.2 which is not to bad for a 2.5
had work done by devil developments in littlehampton who really know ford engines and completly re-maped by
lee, spent 6 hours on rollers and all for £300

Be fair to us all though, thats no std engine. lol

Very impressive, gives me hope smile

Its had a whole rebuild with nice parts. Did obes have valve springs uprated as I would be concerned on std ones at that boost. Also did he have fitted forged pistons?

What torque are you running as I don't belive the gearbox was uprated?

Mines being rebuilt as we speak with all those bits being done. Would be interested if the head gasket can take that boost over time as I have herd the 2.5 doesn't like a lot of boost unlike the 3ltrs.

Do you know what you got from 1bar boost?

I intend to map mine to 1.2bar but then run it at 1bar for a while before raising it (would like to actually get to drive it before any chance of it breaking again .lol)

Hi Bondy really pleased with how the purple one is running, sorry to here about yours.
torque is about 400, got a lsd in gearbox so it will be interesting to find out how long
it will last,iv taken box out before so not to much of a problem
Lee from Devils said could not up boost any more as valve where lifting, will be sorted in future.
spoke to the guy at Gems who re-built engine who told me the engine had forged pistons and rods and fully
balanced, engine is not standard its a ex dev engine which is tolerance perfect and was specd for 400 bhp.
it has different valve seat profiles to the standard engine. Mat Faulks supplied engine if more info is needed

Yeah, spoke to Mat and Gems. Interesting about the valve seat profiles. Also I herd that 1 bar was enough to get valve float on the std springs. Maybe they are upgraded.

Think 380 was the safe limit for torque on the box (diff is fine its 3rd gear thats the issue).

Will be interesting to see what I get. I was at 372 with 1 bar but one bank obviously not right. My garage are doing all there work half price and no charge for any mapping. They obviously feel a little responsible. Its very good of them.

sorry my spelling is crap, engine re-build by jems not gems, realy got to get mapping right
mine was running ignition to advance on boost, needs to be retarded as more power is needed mine was the
other way round
also the guy at jems and devil said to lower boost on top end speed, sure way of melting pistons,or
dont run high revs full throttle for more than 3 miles even with forged ones. can lower boost from ecu
will acheive this.im only repeating what iv been advised im no expert but im learning fast, thats noble
ownership for yer

Are you saying that at higher revs the boost should back off?

I'm having my new pistons ceramic coated on the crowns to help keep the heat out of them.

what they wre saying is about prolonged spells of full throttle driving, i think most mappers who deal
with turbos would advise about this,i think noble driving is about short burst off speed so may be
not a problem but its worth taking advice, need to upgrade intercooler and injectors is a must, standard injectors are on their max at 380 bhp

Oh, can you give me part numbers an a idea on cost for the injectors. I have a charge cooler to fit that will keep Intake temps down. But the IC still might be worth an upgrade to allow more air in.

Cheers

I have a spare wheel nut spanner, so I would say you have a deal sir smile

Yes I have a 3 bar map sensor and I think i don't have an issue with the manifold gaskets, mine have been off quite a few times and the garage have never had an issue with the ford ones?

you can throw that graph in the bin

totally tested in the wrong mode

please contact me if you need this explaining

why has the power at the wheels figure in the second graph been removed ?

i really doubt you had a 90% humidity when the car was tested

why was the intake temperature lower than the ambient temperature confused

i suggest you get the Dyno operators to get some training

the car has been run in shoot 8f in the first run (for a forced induction 8 cylinder engine - not correct unless you have a v8 turbo noble !)

the second run is in shoot 6f which is ok - however the wheel power has been removed from the graph

shootout can be interfered with if you enter incorrect baro conditions (early versions of dyno do not have automatic weatherstation), however because they are printed on the graph you would have to be an idiot to do it

Everybody is trained how to use shootout correctly - however this machine was bought second hand with no training or support
