on sky this evening another one of those films that once you start watching you have to watch until the end.

great sprawling scenes mixed with great characters - even the bit parts play their part.

forget the terrible dubbing and voice overs this is utterly brilliant.

in my top ten.

PS noticed a few scenes i'd not seen before, wonder if there was ever an extended cut???

Yes there is. The scene in the cave as Tuco meets up with his gang before catching up with Clint in the hotel, Angel Eyes at the hospital and a few more, some extended versions of normal scenes. Clint & Eli went back into a studio to re dub their own voices, a sound-a-like did Lee van Cleef as he had already passed away.

There aren't many bad Clint movies, IMHO... The spaghettis were BY FAR the best western flicks, and anyone who mentions John Wayne should be shot with their own Smith and Wesson.

There are enjoyable John Wayne western films, El Dorado, Rio Lobo, Rio Bravo and The Shootist.

Did anyone else know they have remade Wayne's True Grit, out later this year.

The shootist is excellent, a great send off for Wayne.

The searchers is really good as well in my opinion.
