I’ve already checked MOT history and associated mileage, with the free DVLA check. So now need to know if it’s been in a significant shunt, and whatever other relevant info, that might be available. Any online checkers that can be recommended, and the cheapest? Must be online, I don’t possess a mobile.

I've always used HPI.

Thanks. Just checked that out:

http://www.hpicheck.com/

3 cars for £30, or 1 for £20.

Only HPI covers you against buying:

* A car with outstanding finance
* A car reported as stolen with the Police
* An insurance write off
* A cloned car *

The unique HPI £30,000 Guarantee* means you're covered!

Any others out there worth using? I'd like to pay less than £20-£30, if possible.

You asked for the best. There are cheaper, but none better.

I don't really understand this unless it's a sub £1000 snotter your buying. Whats £20 compared with the several thousand pound risk associated with not carrying out the check?

Yeah, I guess I’m after cheaper. Just need to know if it’s been in a significant shunt, mostly.

Yep, it’s a £1000 Puma. I wasn’t proposing not carrying out a check, hence the thread.
