Anderson connectors

Afternoon all.
I have just returned from a long trip away, and thought I would get the old T350 battery charging, so I wheeled out the box with the crocodile clips, raised the bonnet, and......errrr....where's the battery? Looked in the handbook, mildly gobsmacked to find out (and very amused at the illustrating photo, which could be of anything from the hatch opening mechanism of a T-34 tank to some part of the Space Shuttle), but I have an Anderson connector built in! Excellent, remember the man saying something about that when I picked her up. Go to Halfords. A what? Go to A1 Motor Factors. A what? Google doesn't help much either.
So does anyone know where I can find a battery charger / conditioner with an Anderson Connector on the end?

charge through the cigarette socket. Anderson socket is really for jump starting and not easy to get to.
Grand Prix Race Wear at Silverstone sell them. there are different sizes though. I think TVR is the largest

Don't suppose you know which one? The range is a bit bewildering (seems to be mainly about bikes from a look through ebay listings), and the company website is home-made and lacks clear directions for numpties and doesn't seem to mention charging through the cigar lighter.Hi ajcj,

I did eventually borrow one from James who I bought the car off but after a lot of fannying about I still couldn't start the car this way. I eventually bought an Optimate4 together with a separate ciggy lighter connection (around £10 extra
) both off ebay. Very easy to use and I just plug it in if not using the car for a couple of weeks. Only problems I've had with the car are windows not going up properly and since using the Optimate I've had no recurrence. So I'd recommend you get one.
Also be aware that corrosion around the Andersen connector caused a fire hazard on some Tuscans (see the sticky thread at top of Tuscan forum) and X-works checked mine out when it was there (removed it I think).

For info crocodile clips will attach quite happily to a female Anderson.
I have an Anderson under the bonnet of my Chim, fitted years ago and sourced from Leven (who do chargers with Anderson connectors). I replaced the original grey one when it crumbled due to heat exhaustion (normal TVR malaise) with a smart red one from Demon Tweeks which seems much more robust. I even got a nice slicone sleeve and cap to protect it from underbonnet heat.
Anyway, just clip your crocs onto the back (flat) edge of the Anderson socket and they will clip to the contacts.

No such thing as a "female" Anderson. The connectors are all the same.
Correct....they just mate up as an alternate fitting pair.The ones in the picture look like the baby size of the three available. Grey or red makes no odds....its the size which counts as that implies the amps handling capacity.
I use the middle size on my cars which is adequate for jump starting.
Available from decent electrical wholesalers like Bristol Auto Electrical.
Dulford Auto/TVRCarparts can supply Accumates....well worth the minor investment....and yes cigi lighter leads are extra.
