Gruen Curvex c. late 30's/early 40's

Hullo there,

I've never popped into this forum before but I was having a chat with a friend of mine about watches today and he asked me what my old Gruen Curvex was worth. To be honest, I have no idea! I swapped it for an old BMW many, many years ago and, I believe, at the time it was worth between £600 and £800. Not really planning on selling in; was just a little curious. It's simular to this one, in yellow gold but with a very slightly different number font.

No idea on the Curvex, I've heard of it but never really paid attention to the price, here's a nice Gruen diver's watch out of interest:



They did one with a more pronounced 'curve'; the 'Risttime' or something, for drivers to wear on the side of the wrist rather than on top of it.
