Whats this box?

Once in every five times i start her up(94 500) the pump primes the dash lights up but the starter just does a single click and doesnt turn,it can do this about five times then i thump the centre console and it then starts fine.

Now im going to bypass the immobiliser and hopefully cure it,is this what this box is and any pointers on bypassing it?

it was behind the radio and has a 6 pin plug in it..

It conditions the signal from the speed sensor for the ECU. It also serves to connect the speedo to the sensor (although it doesn't change the signal for this)

Thanks for that so wheres the immobiliser then as ive looked under the centre console and only found the microwave box for the alarm?

There should be separate alarm and immobiliser boxes behind the dash. Mine were tucked right at the back of the space and virtually out of sight. I should have bypassing instructions somewhere written down. If I find them I will email them to you (would be a bit silly to post them here...)
