S-Max Interior LED Lights

Hi.

I have recently taken delivery of a new S-Max with the LED interior lights. They seem to be a royal pain in the backside. For the life of me I cannot get them simply to come on when the car is unlocked with the remote or a door is opened and to go off once inside the car (after the normal delay). They are either off all the time or stay on well after driving off, necessitating the use of the "master switch" to turn them off.

In desperation, I even resorted to the handbook, which was no help at all. Is this a fault or something I am doing or not doing? Any help appreciated.
